How to Adjusts Hayes Sole Brake

If you have Hayes sole hydraulic brakes, which right now is only sold part of a complete bike. This type of brake only has a moving pad on one side as opposed to all the other Hayes hydraulic brakes which have moving pads on both sides. So the adjustment is different. You still pull a lever with these two bolts loose, center of the brake up. Right now you have some rub, but with this brake, you actually don't need to worry about that because you are going to, you have a different way of adjusting the pad rub.

Now you do want to look inside and see where the pad is rubbing. You are not going to be able to see this in camera, but the pad that's rubbing is the inner pad. If you want to adjust the fixed pad so it doesn't rub and right now it's rubbing, but if you just put a five millimeter hex key in from the back side though the wheel, move that. Silent!

So there is no touching at all. You can see how the rodder flexes as I pull the lever, this pad then pushes it over to the fixed pad. If the amount of lever-pull is too much, you can also adjust the outer pad on the sole and turn it in a little more until it's a little closer to the rodder and you get less pull of the lever before the brake stops the bike. So that's all there is to adjusting a Hayes sole.
