A lot of people use Facebook, they know it very well. They used it to kind of keep track of their sort of social life, you know keep in touch with friends, remember birthday’s and write things on each others walls and do all sort of fun stuff socially.
Did you know that there’s a business aspects to it that you can take advantage of, which can cost you very little money in terms of some other things that you’re doing for marketing? I want to show you how some of this things work.
First of all, simple log-in to your Facebook account. If you don’t have one, create one because you probably should have one. If you just click on the little button below has an advertising button, you just click on that advertising button and it takes you to a page. And on that page there are two very simple things that you can do to advertise or market your business. One of them is to create what they call social ads. This are ads, similar to how search marketing works, they’re ads were you design your ad, you're offer of what you want to make and then what you do is you simply choose what kind of people you want to target and how much money you want to spent on targeting them.
The point is that every time someone looks or clicks on your ad it ends up costing you a little bit of money but you can set a budget so it doesn’t cause you millions. The other one is the Facebook pages for your business. You can actually represent your business or your brand simply by creating its own profile page. So let’s first take a look at social ads. This is quite interesting; I’ve started one on this next tab over here, really straight forward.
First of all number one, what do you want to advertise. What’s the website that you want people to go too, were they going to learn about our purchase your product or service. Once you’ve done that you basically I put get connected TVshow.com. Once you put that, you put the title of what your ad is going to be, what’s going to look like, min is Get Connected T-shirts, were going to sell t-shirts and then just short description. If you are a fun of Get Connected then you can get your own, very own Get Connected T shirt with the light size picture of AJ’s face, who wouldn’t want one?
So once you got that set up it shows you a little preview here just in the corner there of what it’s going to look like when that ad get serve up on the page and you can even upload a photo as well. After that, now you have to go down you actually have to target who you want to speak too. I’ve chosen people in Canada so anybody who has a Facebook page that leaves in Canada, I haven’t said a particular province or a particular city I said everywhere, I haven’t said wether I only wanted to target male or female and I put 18 years old or up, so any age. And I got about eight and half million people that I can market this ad too.
Take the next step, and you simply go down and hit continue and this is you actually decide how much you want to pay when someone clicks on that ad. What is the acquisition cost of the potential customer that I want to pay, for example is it worth 50 cents for someone to click on that ad and potentially buy an $8.00 T-shirt? Well if I decide that it is I can simply put my bed down and I can also set a budget like here we got $25.00 but let’s say I want to spend up to a $1,000.00 on letting people click on my ad for the opportunity to talk to us eight million people
Quickly go back to the other service creating the business page this one is straightforward as well. This one is more like setting up you own Facebook account, you simply just talk about your business what is it, what you do, and then you just profile—published a page that not can be profiled and shared with sort of different friends. People can seek you out and you can also send out invitations for people to add page to their Facebook account.
Great ways to use Facebook, a tool that you would think it’s for personal use for business to help market your business better and take advantage of things that the competition simply not even thinking about.
