Kristy: Last season we did Venetian plaster like this and it was a nightmare and I swear I
won’t do it again but Sandra has easier way and I am going to make you prove it.
Sandra: Kristy it’s all on the product, this is the Faux from the Pro polished plaster.
Kristy: Alright so I’m ready.
Sandra: Okay here we go so what we are going to do is as you take your polished plaster
we going actually just roll it on the important element here is the ruler and now
this is actually where all want we want. This save your ton of time because its no
cement, this is nice and smooth up comes on and we’re actually painting over the
existing paint color here so you see that color coming a little bit and you know it’s
a dark color so you don’t have to put on the upper coats and you know you are
going to using two hands here and I think crash on that ruler. And your corner just
wants to use a regular latex cutting brush.
Kristy: Alright we’ve already done our two coats of plaster in here and we’re ready to
start doing our cross hatch.
Sandra: This is a plastic cloth and this is going to act as out hat so we put our plaster righ
on here and we are going to work with the two colors. This is specializing that we
are working with, round that edges and it’s really important lightweight to the
plaster.
Kristy: So they that are actually smash was called cross hatching and I going to fill on
behind you, that’s good. Heavier line or—
Sandra: Yeah that’s good put it all like that and you have at least some space for me to fill
in and okay here I got the light coat and I’m going to fill in. So we are just going
to connect and almost like connecting the dots and I’m going over the blue
slightly and almost creating the third coat of that way. Nice technique Kristy.
Kristy: Thank you.
Sandra: Okay.
Kristy: Thank you for noticing. Almost I am going to do two coats with the core set
patterns so we are going to finish that up and we come back we are going to show
you how to do the waxing and varnishing. This is going to be so easy. Now so far
we’ve done a cross hatch path and with the light and the dark color two times and
now we are ready to do wax.
Sandra: This is 100% acrylic wax infuse with pure my gall. This is like the glaze just like
you know three to four parts wax to make it one part of the metallic so we are
mixing the gold that we are going to use with this clear flat and we’re just going
to put it on and do the same cross hatch.
Kristy: Absolutely, you just basically do and put it on one angle and go to the other angle
and what is doing is that extenuating all of the detail so your color and increases
by 10% and it gets darker and brighter reflect the colony plus for reflecting the
wall. Okay and you want to redo the ridge mark so okay and you don’t want to
overwork you just put on once and move on and that’s is the way hold the knife, I
have my thumb here and the four fingers you push on that knife okay and
basically that pushing is able to smear the wax on that and then you remove it. So
these are meant to bend and now your got a nice smooth application or avoid
wrist marks. And you work until there is nothing left on the knife before you
actually pick up more.
Sandra: Okay so we left this dry for 24 hours, that’s important and we are already to do
varnishing now and we should know I am not a fan.
Kristy: Varnishing is simply that simple, what we do is we take the center of the knife
lent flat on the wall okay and just roll in second the motion. One you get going
you will feel that the knife sliding, you feel that?
Sandra: Yeah.
Kristy: Ones start to slide then you can actually go on angles. So varnishing is going to
add a real saddle effect and you could see this color is going to darker okay.
Sandra: Yeah, you know this is so much easier and I don’t understand why. I’m barely
putting any pressure.
Kristy: Well it’s on your knife is going to finish up this venetian plaster wall and you
know I’m a believer because I haven’t sweat and I’m still as precious as daisy.
