Male: Inside this sea side home an addition created three different rooms that required
three very different wall treatments. That the bathroom walls are by far the most
traumatic the home owner give Sandra to get creative unlike most for wall
finishes which are meant to blend in to the background.
Female: Skies was a limit that’s the work we are going to do because you wanted the walls
just the dominant at this space.
Male: Leaves and fossil seem to leap on the walls, Sandra show us the layering and took
to achieve this effect. And here is what the room look like before the details for
adding at this point red plaster has been rolled onto the walls to get them ready for
this tensile.
Female: I put it on pretty quick and then actually just kind of skimming the surface so my
night is almost flat to the wall at this point.
Male: She carefully put some leaf right on the wall before the plaster dries, next should
be erase this tensile.
Female: We are going to use the plaster, okay and where going to just go over the tensile
like this and just check my— so gold are surface that frosting a cake actually and
then you just get the extras and then you pull back this tensile and then I’m using
a low duct tape and you pull it back and going to image.
Male: Sandra makes sure everything is covered and the excess is remove before
removing the tensile. The tensile are covered with the metallic wax.
Female: And you’re going to just put your sponge right in there and grab that wax okay
just use a regular kitchen sponge and you’re going to just polish the wall with the
wax.
Male: It takes a couple of coats to the wax before Sandra can apply a black glaze.
Female: And I’m going to start to polish over this and you see I will grab the glaze over
the wax and it’s calming it down and make it much more pleasant to the area, it’s
exposing all of the detail.
Male: The varnish brings out the color of the wax and sealed the surface and adds the
shin to the wall. And Gina is delighted with the finish bathroom walls.
Gina: And it just fun, it’s very different it’s what we found love with when we first went
to Sandra’s studio.
