Asalaam everyone! I’m going to show you how to apply mascara properly without having clumpy lashes. So first, I’ll begin by curling my lashes, get a little closer here. So, I normally pump my eyelash curler about three times.
Okay and I’ll start out with a Defining Mascara. I’m using the L’Oreal Clean Definition Telescopic but others that I found that I love as well are the Chanel Inimitable and the new iconic by Dior. They are amazing and actually of the same rubbery wand that work very well.
So, what this is going to do is separate the lashes. So, I’m going from the root to the tip and I’m making a twirling motion, that’s helps it all. So, that helps really curl the lashes too.
And this, you don’t have to worry about clumping. I really don’t get too much mascara on there.
So, as you can see, I’m applying quite a bit. I definitely like my lashes to be a huge focus and I don’t want to wear false lashes everyday so I like my lashes to look very prominent and very full. And don’t forget to do the bottom lashes. Other people don’t do that but I think it definitely makes the look.
So, after applying the Defining Mascara, you want to go back with a more volumizing mascara.
Now, the trick is to get something that’s not too clumpy and what you’ll do is you’ll focus on applying it at the root of the lash; shake back and forth and gently move it up and this will give you a more dramatic lash without being too full and clumpy.
There you go. Clumpy lashes, they really don’t look good on anybody. More than anything, you’ll see more make up and you won’t even get to see some of these beautiful eyes because they have so much mascara on so obviously, your mascara’s your last step, it’s after your eye shadow of your eyeliner but for this case, I didn’t wear any eye make up, just so you could see my lashes completely.
Okay, a little closer and they have the mascara down here still but soon we’re going to let it dry or freeze it and moving around like I did. There we go.
So, I hope that helps. Some people use Lash Primers before they put on their mascaras but I feel that separating mascara does very, very well and it actually holds lashes better. If you do want more hold on your lashes after you curl and you want your lashes to stay curly, you can always try a waterproof mascara. Especially if your mascara’s running or bleeding, waterproof is amazing.
And you don’t always have to use two mascaras. Some women actually don’t even prefer this much volume. You could just stick with a Defining Mascara, like the L’Oreal or the Chanel Inimitable or the Dior Iconic, they are great. This is the more affordable version, I always have request for using more affordable makeup so I hope you appreciate that.
