Elbow Spider
Dr. Kevin D. Jardine D.C.: To begin the application of the elbow spider, start by tearing all the perforations along the black lines.
For step number one, tear the backing off of section number one and apply just above elbow joint allowing hole to preplace directly over top of the bony lateral elbow, the lateral epicondyle. Once section one is applied, gently rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue.
For step number two, peel back the backing of section two and allow to come in gentle contact with the skin, with no stretch on the tape. Once applied, gently rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue.
For step number three, peel back the backing of three as you hang on to section number four and then gently pull the tape approximately one inch longer than its resting length and let come in contact with the skin. Gently rub over the tape to smoother any areas where crease may formed. Once applied, gently rub over the tape a little harder to activate the glue.
For step number four, flex your wrist out, stretching out the wrist extensors. Take the backing of section number four, gently peel it back as you'd lightly apply the tape to the extensor muscle group in the direction of the thumb.
Once that section is about 90% attached, tear off the remaining portion and smooth the tape down the line of the skin. Rub over top to activate the glue. Peel back the backing, allow the tape to come in contact with the extensors in the direction towards the pinky.
Once it's mainly applied, pull off the remaining portion of the backing and rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue.
