Gord: Susan you have got an excellent peony arrangement here.
Susan: Thanks Gord.
Gord: I would love to see what you are going to do with this gerberas because you got such a round Voss here with round flowers but,
Susan: Very Linear,
Gord: Is totally different.
Susan: Exactly. Okay.
Well, the thing of about Gerberas is that they are all about, they are legs.
Gord: Oh, legs. (Laughing)
Susan: Legs are go forever. And, they are like caricatures of flowers that like a little kid, and dry.
Gord: Yes, well, actually it is true.
Susan: So, what I want to do is I want to highlight that characteristic of the flower.
Gord: Okay.
Susan: That they are just really simple, simple flowers but they are very leggy. So, what I have chosen to use is a very leggy Voss.
Gord: That is huge.
Susan: It is huge. And you know, if you fill this full of water, what you end up doing is you been looking at after 2 days, you will be looking at muddy water.
Gord: (Laughing)
Susan: And. We do not want to do that. And, we do not want to keep changing that water either. So, what I would like to do is start a really fast, this is a party trick.
Gord: Party trick?
Susan: Yes, party trick.
Okay, so I am going to take this Gerberas and I am just going to wind them up, one on top of the other. Very quickly and, maybe do about,
Gord: You have already got the stumps, okay?
Susan: That name.
So what we have is just a bunch of gerberas at different heights.
Gord: Okay.
Susan: And then, I will move the Voss about because I need to see where to cut this. Okay.
So, I am going to cut this bunch of gerberas. The tallest,
Here is the tallest gerberas.
Gord: Okay,
Susan: That last stem, right there. So, now I have got a handful of different heights. And, I shall cut them just a little bit shorter.
Now, what I am going to do is I am going to let them go.
Gord: Ah, okay.
I was wondering what you are going to do is (Laughing)
Susan: And, there you have a tower of gerberas where,
Ops, one’s hang up. Which one?
Gord: The yellow guy.
Susan: The yellow guy has,
There we go.
So, you have a tower of gerberas. They are not ever going to fall over. You put an inch of water in the bottom.
That is it.
Gord: Okay.
Susan: They are all in water.
Gord: All in water?
Susan: And, there is nothing to it.
This looks great as table center or on either side of a buffet or a kid’s party or whatever.
Gord: It is amazing. Now, if the flower are inside the Voss, is this something new or,
Susan: Yes, it is quite contemporary. It is a new approach to flower arranging. You will see lots of arrangement now than right inside the glass vosses rather than, then like this one where they are all outside.
Gord: Conditionally.
Susan: Yes, that is much more traditional with a more traditional flower,
Gord: Yes,
Susan: This is much more contemporary with contemporary kind of flower.
Gord: (Laughing) and, I love the color. Yes.
Susan: The colors are contemporary and I can see this in a lofter, that kind of situation?
Gord: That is good. That is really neat. Thanks a lot Susan?
Susan: You are welcome.
