Hi, I’m Bill with BGB Builders. I’ve got my wife Genna, and assistant with me. Our project today is building a closet. Next step is going to be to take the walls that we built and put them in place. So, let’s go ahead and do that.
Now our first step is going to be securing these walls to the concrete, got my safety glasses and I’m going to ahead and use the Hilti gun but as I said before you can use masonry cut nails and a hammer to do the same thing.
So, all I’m going to do here is to put my safety glasses down, line my wall up with the chalk marks that we have, make sure we’re all lined up and then in each stud bay, we’re going to use the Hilti gun. So, this is going to be a loud noise. We’ll repeat that one more time and the next thing we need to do is to level the wall. We can tell that it’s leveled when the bubble is centered in between the two lines, which it is. So I’m going to go ahead and nail the wall.
Now, we’re going to move back and do the same thing until we get back to this wall. Okay, now I just finished nailing everywhere I can. I put a block in between the two joists where my wall would have ended up with nothing to nail to, so I put a block in here to nail to and I’ve got each floor joist that I can also nail to.
So, I just am going to finish up nailing and the same thing goes for these blocks over here. I’ve put these blocks in because our wall doesn’t line up with the studs, so we’ll put blocks in, so we have something to nail to. Let’s get our ladder out of our way, so that we keep our clean jobs right and I’m going to nail this last block.
Our first wall is in place, now that we’ve installed our first wall, its time to install the second wall. So we’re going to repeat the same process. We’re going to move the wall on the place first. These takes a little bit of adjustment and were going to secure the floor, the wall to the floor and maybe we’ll even do this from the inside. Now that we’ve secured the bottom of this wall, we are going to level it. I’m going to get on ladder and we’re going to secure it to the ceiling.
Now let’s start on this side, just finished on this side. Genna are we leveled?
Okay, alright, now I also secure it to this corner here where I’ve got my two studs as we laid out before on my outside corner, so that I’ve got something to nail to. Now, that our second wall is secure, our closet is framed, let’s move on to hanging drywall.
