Perhaps you have got an upcoming job that you are hesitating to do because you need to attach a piece of treated lumber to a concrete slab or maybe a concrete wall. And you do not want to mess around with all those anchors.
How do you do it, here is a trick that us carpenters have used for years. All you need is a rota hammer drill, you need a 20 ounce hammer, and some 16 penny sinker nails. Make sure you attach a quarter inch, four inch or six inch long masonry bit into the rota hammer and we are ready to go.
Drill through the wood directly into the concrete periodically extracted through a bit to make sure you pull wood chips and some of the concrete dust out of the way.
Keep the wood in place, do not move it and take two nails and put them side by side and begin to drive them into the wood right then into the hole into the concrete. Use very solid straight blows and drive both nails at the exact same time.
When you make that final blow and those nails are in there, you are going to have a solid connection that is almost impossible to pull out unless you have got a crowbar. Space the nails, the holes basically about 16 to 2 feet on center and you are going to have a fantastic connection.
Hey, look that was really simple, I told you there is nothing to it. You can easily attach a piece of wood to a concrete floor.
