Listen, are you starting a computer related business and you’re not quite sure how to build a solid computer marketing plan? When you first start out marketing your business, you need to make sure you know exactly which type of small business owners you’re trying to reach.
After all, the category of small business of awfully broad. Once you do that, you’ll be able to find a much easier to come up with the targeted marketing message. When you start narrowing down perhaps by size or by industry, this means you need to think about the characteristics of your idea prospects and figure it out how you best reach them.
If your just getting started, you might feel overwhelm when you realize there is as many as 30 different computer marketing tasks that you can do as the owner of a computer related business. Of course you should make a list of all the possibilities, but you need to narrow it down. Maybe find four or five that appeal you most. The main thing to remember is that you must diversify and never put all your eggs in one basket. You should always have a few different computer marketing campaigns running at all times.
So, we’re going to talk about three tips that can help you design a computer marketing plan that will work well with your unique business and bring you the best prospects, customers and clients in your local area.
First, you should consider your many computer marketing options. Think about which marketing strategy you can use and think about how they would work with your specific business and how they grow from your specific business.
Some of the tactics, some of the strategies that you might want to consider include outbound telemarketing, targeted direct postcards or targeted sales letter mailings sort of maybe you send out a set number of postcards or letters each month to a targeted group and then to a follow up a few weeks later by phone.
You may want to get involve in business to business, BtoB tradeshows in your local area. You should look into expos or industry events maybe doing some organizational marketing like getting very active in some local organizations in your area. Maybe you want to do some seminars that you either host yourself or co-host with trust business advisers or partners. There’s many different options, many different creative options that you can select so think about how you can best reach your target audience. Consider in many computer marketing options.
Second, diversify and track in marketing campaigns. One of the most important characteristics of a great computer marketing plan is that it’s diverse. Again, never spend your entire annual marketing budget on a single campaign. You want to hit different areas and then figure out the way to track and measure what your doing. Figure out how much time and money that you put to each one of your campaigns that you’re investing in each campaign and figure out what you get back from doing that, which type of leads, how many leads your getting, how many of those believes materialize into qualified leads and ultimately the lead sales appointments. How many of those sales appointments need lead to paying customers and a basic statistics, figure out which type of leads you’re getting as a direct result of your investment. Basically, what are you putting into it and what are you getting out of each campaign. You need to figure out which marketing strategies work and which don’t work. So you can do more of those that are working and eliminate those that are just are not bringing in any business. So the second, make sure you diversify and track your marketing campaigns.
Third, you should evaluate your marketing results each quarter. No matter which computer marketing strategies and campaigns that you choose, you need to give each one a chance to generate results. That means, in most cases, you know there’s always exceptions but in most cases you need to stick with each campaign for at least two to three months to see how it develops. Because after all, there definitely is a sales cycle when you’re looking to get the best study high paying clients in your local area.
Once the quarter is over, once the end of the calendar quarter is over, stick with the campaigns that work and abandon those that did not. Then you need a couple of new campaigns each quarter into the max, so that you’re constantly testing out new client attraction strategies. Remember, that marketing is an ongoing evolutionary process that will be refined every time and in fact, you never ever going to be done with marketing. Marketing is something that you should be doing on a very regular basis preferably working on at least a few hours each and every week.
