How to Attract Media Attention at Trade Shows
On behalf of TVLesson.com this is Linda Musgrove, the trade show teacher with TSTeacher.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to attract media attention at trade shows. One way is to pitch the media. When you’re going to exhibit on a trade show always ask the trade show if they have a media list and send a pitch letter to the media asking for appointments.
Other media opportunity is to have your press released directly on the show site. They have your company information and people can look at your press release and go to your company website. Not all shows have this but a lot of shows do offer it.
Some shows offer a press release template where they give you information about the show and you just fill in information about your company. You drop on your booth number, your company name and that type of information. Some other shows will also have a hundred words press release distribution or another word count and you’re able to put information about your company, a brief description and this get sent out to the media.
A really great award to submit forward that gets you a lot of publicity is the best of show award and not a lot of people submit for this. So you have a really good opportunity of giving the award.
And lastly, I’d like to talk about speaking opportunities. Anybody can present a session at a trade show. You have to submit an abstract and usually nine months before the show, you submit it to the show and they consider your proposal. And if you get the speaking opportunity, it gives you a lot of publicity opportunities. On behalf of TVLesson.com, this is Linda Musgrove. Thank you for watching.
