I really enjoy attracting birds to my garden particularly this time of year when there’s not much going on into the flower department. It could be a lot of fun, you see I’m not alone in my enthusiasm for this since 1980 every five years birds seeds sales have double in this country.
Feeding the birds is easy, I like this tube feeders for a number of reason, they don’t waste much seeds and you could always tell how much food you have in them. And since they have this small purchase it keeps large birds from dominating it at feeding time. This are also made with smaller holes for specialty seeds like vessels ideal for attracting birds like finches and Tuscan.
There’s really no right or wrong time to begin feeding the birds the main thing is just to do it and if you haven’t come up with a new year’s resolution yet what can be better than feeding this little guys.
Now there’s another way that you can feed them it’s particularly attractive to gardeners. You can plant things in you’re garden that are beautiful and the birds love to eat. Like crab apples and dogwoods and when it comes to shrubs, you might try something like this gray poly, barberry, or roses for they’re beautiful bright hips in the winter.
Now I’ve only touched on a few there are a lot more things out there that birds love to eat. If you’d like a list of some of those trees and shrubs that will bring them into your garden just check out our web site, from the garden, I’, Allen Smith.
