Amish Friendship Bread is one of the most fun and unique ways to make food with your family and friends. It is particularly unique because you cannot just make it by yourself. It is a genuine starter breads so you have to get some Amish Friendship Bread starter from someone that you know.
Now, a lot of the times, church groups or hospitals will do it with patience or people that stay there and a lot of the time on the holidays people pass on the Amish Friendship Bread starter to each other. So, someone you know have some, it is just a question of finding it.
Once you get the starter, you can start making your Amish Friendship Bread, but if you cannot find any, here is a recipe to make some.
Do not use any metal spoons or dishes, you have to use plastic or ceramic. Now, you get one cup of live yeast and on the first day, do not do anything with the starting yeast. On the second to fifth day, stir it with a wooden spoon. On the sixth day, add one cup of flour, one cup of sugar and one cup of milk, stir that with a wooden spoon. On the seventh through the ninth day, occasionally stir with the wooden spoon. On day ten, you are going to add one cup of flour, one cup of sugar and one cup of milk and stir. Then, take out three cups and place one cup each into three separate plastic containers. Give one cup and a copy of this recipe to three friends. To the balance, which is a little over one cup of the butter, add the following ingredients and mix well.
One cup of oil
Half cup of milk
Three eggs
One teaspoon of vanilla
In a separate bowl, combine the following dry ingredients and mix well. Two cups of flour, one cup of sugar, one and one half teaspoons of baking powder, two teaspoons of cinnamon, half teaspoon of baking soda, one box of instant vanilla pudding, half teaspoon of salt and one cup of nuts. Now, add those dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix and pour into two well greased in sugared bread pans. Bake this at 325 degrees for one hour and you will have your Amish Friendship Bread.
