How to Balance Athletics and Academics

Okay, academically in Division-III there is academic emphasis. There is a balance between academics and athletics. We never miss class time for practice. Practices are always scheduled at the conclusion of the class day, and the only time that a class is missed is occasionally in the spring if we're having a way contest, our student athletes could potentially miss a class. But those are identified early in the semester. We always make some accommodation for that, and occasionally a student may not be able to miss that class and not be able to travel to team.

The Division-III philosophy is, is that way because in Division-III athletes are not in anyway compensated financially for playing or with their athletic ability, that's the biggest difference between Division-I, II, and III. There is absolutely no money awarded to a student-athlete of Division-III based upon athletic ability.
