I’m about to take out my 6 year old to ride him so he’s already groomed and cleaned. I’m
going to bandage him now. I use bandages because I think it gives a nice firm support for
the tendons, ligaments and the leg. If you’re not confident putting bandages on I would
always suggest to get a pair of boots but we bandage for exercise here.
So I have 5 of these nice slightly reckon around for the front legs and I have a bandage
around here so I always go around the back and always bandage and the bandage going
towards the back. I always make sure that the ends of my fiber starts on the flat sides of
the leg and not on the fronts so there’s no pressure points on these sensitive areas.
I make sure it fits around the fit lock quite firm but you don’t want to over tighten them
but they have to set firm so that they won’t slip when he moves and he bucks something
so this is when I start on the flat side of the leg and I go back towards the hind legs and
always just pull nice firm tension so that you can get a bit of fingers between but you
don’t want it to slip and I bandage a few times around the flat lock so that’s really
protected if he does over reach at all and then try and go up and even spaces and always
make sure that there’s no creases so that there’s no pressure pints anywhere.
Ideally I forgot to finish is here on the left side just move that off right there. Having on
front legs, I will now bandage the back legs I always tie a knot in the tail so that I don’t
have to worry about that. The hind leg I have a bigger fiber and have a corner of that.
What I always want to mention is I always want to check my horses legs before I
bandage so I know if anything has changed if there’s any heat in any of them before I
start working.
Same here fiber g goes around to the back and that’s the ring is on the flat sides. I’ll
stretch it down a bit and again here we start near the top to make sure we got no edges
and rooms bandage down evenly and the foot lock make sure there’s no bits of paper in
that that can rub. Even get leg and finish it at the top. Okay.
