Mary: Welcome to this tight fit special edition of TMI weekly.
Julia: We have a lot of people in the couch today.
Meghan: It’s called a lot of love on the love seat right?
Mary: And that’s actually what we’re talking today, love. Love, how do we find love? Julia has brought in an expert.
Julia: We put in the match maker Lisa Ronis. Lisa, thank you so much for joining us on our love couch. We’re all cuddled in the love couch.
Lisa you’ve been a match figure for how many years?
Lisa: 9 years professionally but I’ve been doing it my whole life. I happened to be nosy, I have a huge heart, I love to meddle in people’s business and I’m sort of like a connector, I love putting things together.
Mary: Julia you’re in the wrong stitch.
Julia: I know—
Meghan: So what’s your typical client that comes to you?
Lisa: It could be anywhere from 20’s, mid late 20’s, all the way up. I actually have a guy in the 70’s who’s had a few wives and—by New York.
Julia: A few.
Lisa: But generally it would say late 20’s into the 40’s.
Mary: Is he looking for the 20 something gold in there?
Lisa: No, very realistic which is refreshing, these guys are like impossible.
Julia: Well you told me this, you said that guys are actually huge perfectionist and women are far more forgiving?
Lisa: Yes, exactly because guys are very visual and it sounds tried by the fat. If a guy is a little bit overweight but he’s got that wonderful charming personality. If a woman is overweight and not good personality, forget it.
I have the widows, widowers and divorced people who haven’t been out there for a really long time, so I’m very positive, I’m very sensitive. So if someone comes to me, I like to dust them off, psych them and get them back out there. And people say what, how are you successful? If that divorced women whose husband cheated on her and she felt this big, is now a dating machine or enjoying being the company of men. To me even if I don’t find that the soulmate, to me that’s been a lot of work. And then there is a women who have never or guys have never been married who are looking for partners, want to have families. So, there’s sort of two kind of different kinds of client.
Julia: One of those things about Lisa though is that she actually provides feedback and I know that the number one thing that I’ve always wanted and all of us want after date especially when they don’t—
Lisa: So I edit it and I try to make it a constructive criticism okay in which there are some match makers that don’t do that.
Mary: I hope he has so much money for Julia’s feedback–
Lisa: You know what I have a few girls who are called beautiful and hard to read. And that coaching has been invoked. You know what, even when I met you, you were supposed to start with me.
Julia: See.
Lisa: Guys get intimidated. I have like tall gorgeous, ideally guys calling and saying you know what, where you lead her. I have them, believe me.
Julia: That’s amazing.
Lisa: I can’t wait to see you dump some of them.
Meghan: Did the women pay or the men pay or has work?
Lisa: Anyone who wants’s me to focus on them and find them their soulmate pays. You can be inventory.
Julia: Well tell us exactly how it works. So they come to you, you go through the pre-screening for an hour. It cost $400.00, am I right to go to the pre-screening and then you decide to work with them or not.
Lisa: What they’ve decide, yes will I go forward or yes can I work with them, can I clean them up, can I put them down to earth. One girl last year was so angry and I’m like, no way.
Mary: Do you bring in the stylist and the home decorator and all that kind of stuff?
Lisa: It’s all on my website, which just needs, I need to change some of that stuff but yes we do hair and makeup. We all know the end of the day, it’s about attraction and chemistry. When I was hired new, these guys turn to pop up who have tact of sensibility. It’s been 9 years, lots of marriages, lots of babies born and that’s very strange but I love it.
Meghan: We learned so much today. You can check Lisa out at LisaRonisMatchmaking.com and I’m looking forward to it.
Mary: Me to, I’m going to be in the inventory, right?
Lisa: Yes, that’s good for me.
Julia: Thanks for watching TMI. Bye.
