Liz: What do you think is the biggest issue facing single people or single women in Denmark today?
Female: I think that they do not need single rules. Like in America…
Liz: We have a lot of rules.
Female: You have a very good single rules about dating rules. He comes, get the girl, he comes out of the car, they go and have a dinner, they talk, he drivers her back, maybe they kiss when he’s lucky. In Denmark, we have no rules at all. We don’t know what to do.
Liz: I heard that it’s very common that people meet in bars, have sex and figure it out later. Is that common?
Female: No. Then he says alcohol Tuesday.
Female: All men are. They say they’re going to call but they don’t do it.
Liz: You’re at a bar, you’re dancing with a girl, you get to her and you say, “Oh! I like you. Can I have your phone number? I’d like to call you.” Do you always call her?
Male: No.
Liz: If you meet Michael at a bar and he asks for your number, don’t be waiting by the phone.
Female: It’s very depressing because she’s waiting and she’ll think, “Maybe I could call him. Maybe he knows my number.”
Liz: Yeah. Of course, he knows the number. Maybe he died. Maybe he had a car accident.
Female: I should know if he died then I could send flowers so I can call him. So she calls him and then on the other line, he goes, “Uh! Yeah, it was nice.”
Liz: But I’m busy. I have to work and you know…
Female: They say it’s not your fault.
Liz: They say it’s not your fault.
Female: It’s not you, it’s me.
Female: Women always __ then it becomes hot because fear are closing us. I’m teaching women to be open and shine. I’m open and I’m sending out like…
Liz: Do you think that maybe you could design a piece of clothing that will make them or inspire them to always call the woman back.
Male: The call back sweater.
Liz: The call back sweat suit.
Male: Built in mobile phone pocket. I labeled it built in which is call Cindy kind of thing.
Liz: I like that.
So now, I wanted to catch up with Katrina at her running dinner right as she approached the finish line.
We’re here in Copenhagen, it’s one o’clock in the morning. There has been first course, second course, desert and now they’re going to the club to have a good time after all of that. And we’re back with Katrina, and how did it go?
Katrina: It was brilliant. It started out really slow and awkward. Funny people at the main course and desert has just been one big party. My date is brilliant. A really good friend. I love him to be with, he’s so much fun.
Liz: Did he end up being in control, controlling or no?
Female: Not at all.
Liz: No.
Female: He’s great but for not anything, you know, date wise but he could be a really good friend.
Liz: Oh my God! That’s my fantastic. So you had a great time?
Female: Absolutely. And the party continues in there.
Liz: And the party continues inside. Okay so this is the after desert party.
In the end, I guess no matter how well-developed a country is in organization and design, some things are still going to be left up to chance.
