Liz: My name is Liz Tuccillo and I was a writer on “Sex and the City” and co-author of “He’s just not that into you”. You would think I was a dating expert yet single life still baffled me. So I’ve decided to travel the world and see how people all over were managing their single lives.
I decided to go to Rome for my research because I thought it was the obvious place for me to go to learn about romance, or more specifically, about how to fall in love.
Is there a way to fall in love more easily? In my past, have I not been open enough to really fall in love? Because to be honest, I’m here in Rome and literally, all I want to do is just fall in love that’s why I’m here. I mean, it’s really that simple. And I wondered if the Romans could tell me how to do it.
Is there any advice you can give on how I can fall in love easier?
Male: Yes. You have to walk the road.
Liz: I have to walk the road? That’s it. Okay walk the road. And then?
Male: And then you have to wait for something to happen.
Liz: Okay. That’s the part. If you’re single, it’s harder to be in Rome because it’s romantic.
Female: Yes.
Liz: Yes. I think so.
Female: You too?
Liz: Yeah. I’m here a day and it’s terrible. I want to kill myself.
So if I wanted to fall in love, who are these men I was wanting to fall in love with? Is there anything I needed to know before I fell in love with an Italian man?
Male: I like many women.
Liz: You like many women?
Male: Very much.
Liz: You like women or you like many women?
Male: Many. All women.
Liz: Is it true that Italian men are the most passionate men in the world?
Male: Si.
Liz: I understood that. He said he doesn’t speak English.
It’s bullshit about Italian men, isn’t it? Do you think it’s a cliché?
Male: I don’t think it’s bullshit.
Liz: You think that Italian men are passionate and romantic?
Male: I mean even if they’re cheating, they cheat deeper.
Liz: And how do you show your passion to your love?
Okay so I get it. Italian men are passionate. But if I’m going to fall in love with an Italian man, I need to know, is he going to be a good family man?
