Lola Berry: Good day and welcome to fruits and roots. I am Lola Berry. Today we're going to tell you how to boost your immune system. We are going to tell you how to fight off the winter cold and we're going to try and get you back into the garden.
Pineapples are the king of all the immune boosters. Do you know they actually called pineapples because the English told they look like pine cones. They're jam packed full with vitamin C and it's filled with protein-digesting enzyme called Bromelain. Now Bromelain gets rid of any inflammation in the body. It's important to tape to your immune system intake, that way you can come back any time.
I just wanted to show you how easy it is to grow your pineapple. You just get your pineapple cramp; you reap off the bottom prongs here to expose the roots. Then we are going to do is whack them in the ground in a way you guard. Now if you don't live in a tropical climate, just have a little bit of look to say what fruits and veggies work for your area. If you don't have a garden, just whack them on a window.
It's so easy to deal with things that really niggle the immune system like a common cold at home. These are my three favorite kitchen cures. This is ginger. If you're grated up and put in a glass of warm water with honey, it's really, really warming on the body and it helps prevent the cold. What's really interesting about ginger is it's also an aphrodisiac. Now onto chili, there are over 50 varieties of chili and they're fantastic for warming you up and clearing the sinuses. But what's really cool about them is you can chop them up and whack them in your socks and it keeps you warm in the winter. Believe it or not, it really works.
Now onto my favorite, garlic. Garlic is a fantastic way to prevent any winter cold or flu. If you can chop it up in eat it full, that's fantastic but has this, if you ever want to treat worms, you jut put a little bit of Vaseline over it and whack it up your bum, but I'll leave that one up to you.
Your immune system is like the guard dog of your entire body and with added you'd be in a real stress. At fruits and roots, we've told you heaps about real fruits and veggies from digestion injection to brain boosters. So next time you go out shopping, get excited, get motivated and get adventurous, I can guarantee the results are going to be yummy. Right, so I've done, now it's your turn, we're taking it to the street.
Making me laugh just for the record if you will see, it's just me.
And that's a lot of --
