Hi! This is Dan Franklin from HopTech Home brewing Company in Dublin, California.
I’m here today to show you how to brew your own beer at home and what we’ve done so far, we’ve cooked our beer, we’ve chilled it, we’ve fermented it, and now we’re getting ready to bottle your home brew.
Okay everything looks properly sanitized, now that we’re done sanitizing, I’m going to set this down here on the ground. Okay let’s open up our valve to flow of our beer down the line here okay. And we’re going to take our selves a little—a crack a little bit of there in here. And we’re going to take a bottle and get the sanitizer out of it. I’m going to take my bottle. I’m going to push down to my filler. I’m going to fill that not quite to the top, right about there. I’m going to pull this out. I’m going to rest this into the sanitizer so it doesn’t become unsanitized. I’m going to take the cap which you’ve notice my hand is in contact with the sanitizer. The caps with the sanitizer, the caps are magnetic, you take your beer. I want to bring this up so you can see it better. I’m going to take the beer. We’re going to put the cap around it and we’re going to lock it in place.
Perfectly capped bottled beer, let’s just try it once more. Okay we’ve got the flow go in here. Get back up. Once again, two people great thing, father-son, father-daughter, life, into the sanitizer, take my beer. This one I’ll bring it up so could see a little better. Okay I’m going to have it down so it’ll fill. It’s a nice clear beer. This is a lighter beer. Now it may after—it sits there for a while, carbonates so it may get more color to it. Get almost up to the top of the neck. Pull this out, rest this back on your sanitizer. Take your cap which has been in there. Put it here.
So again so you can get a nice shot of this. I’m going to take my capper. Put it on top, close it up, perfectly capped bottle of beer. Now, we’re going to allow this beer to sit for two weeks at room temperature. The warmer it is, the fast it carbonates. The cooler, the slower it carbonates but you want at least leave it two weeks. What we recommend you take is a couple of beers after you—two weeks, 10 days, put them in the fridge. Chill your beer. Take one beer out, open it up. If it has got the proper carbonation, you’ll tell you got the nice, little, fine, mist coming out of it. it’ll be just like a store bought beer. Drink it if it feels carbonated enough, you’re done, you’re ready. So we’ll see you in approximately two weeks when we open up these beers and give it a test. Cheers!
