Hi I am David Epstein and welcome to growing wisdom and I have a tip for you. It is a quick tip today and it is talking about what to do with plants when you buy them in the store. That is sort of, get them in to your home and make them look even nicer. So you buy a plant, you bring it home that is in this ugly green pot like that. What you do is you should buy another container and you put the plant in the container and that tend to spruce things up a bit. So this is sort of a modern-looking container. This might be nice if you had a city apartment or condo or you had an area that had a little more of a modern feel to it.
If you have something that is a little more rustic, perhaps you want to do something like this, some that looks like a bird’s nest kind of a container. And again, we have done is we purchased, it is actually a bird’s nest fern, interestingly enough, we have the bird’s nest fern, goes in the bird’s nest and it just makes it look that much better. So you can put a container around the plant or you could transplant your plant in to a different container.
So take a look at this one we have. This is like a nice brown, really looks like it is sort of an outdoor “jungelly” kind of a theme. We have put the African violet in an interesting container. I put the ZZ plant in a container as well. The theme here, find a container that hides the other container that you buy the plants in because most of the time when you buy a plant, it is not going to come in something that is not beautiful. And also, try to find something that matches the decor of your house in terms of color. It will really tend to tie everything together.
