Because you use the web everyday but you don’t want to spend your whole life on your computer, you want to find ways to get things done online more quickly and easily. Windows Internet Explorer 8 has several new features to help you do this.
Whenever you open a new tab, you now have a number of options to choose from. If you accidentally closed a web page, you can reopen it from a list of previously closed tabs. You can use in Private Browsing mode to start a private browsing session or you can start a common web service with just one click on an Accelerator.
Tabs are now grouped by colored bars as you open them, making it easier to remember how you arrived with each site. This grouping works when you open new pages from links on the current page or if you open a group of your favorite sites all at once.
Most web navigation is about taking you somewhere you’ve already been. To take advantage of this, when you start typing in the address bar, you will get recommendations based on your history, favorites and feeds you are subscribed to.
The Search bar also provides suggestions and can even give you visual previous of some content. The new Find on Page toolbar helps you find a word or phrase on a web page quickly and easily by highlighting your search text wherever it appears.
The improved zoom feature, let’s you zoom into and out of a web page, making it easier to find what you are looking for. Press Ctrl + or Ctrl – on the keyboard and you can also easily customize your browser by selecting manage add-ons from the Tools menu. Here you can add or remove Accelerators in search providers and change other browser settings.
