Hi doctor Lauren I have noticed redness and swollen in my dog's gum around the side teeth and that gives a very bad breath. She is 6 year old yellow lab. She weights about 63 lbs. thank you

Thank you for the class on teeth brushing for dogs. But at what age should you start brushing their teeth?

How do you control bad breath in dogs? Does the dog tooth paste help aide in the bad breath, even though it is beef or chicken flavored? Are there soft dental treats for dogs? I am a foster mom to a Yorkie for a friend of mine who is in transition into a new home, & he is 10mo old & does not know what to do with hard treats, he is not used to them for one, she works all the time, I just need some guidance on his bad breath issue. Thank You so much. Mrs. Santiago.
