How to Build Custom Color Looks - Apple Color
Hey you guys. We’re back with another color tutorial and this time we’re going to give it another certain look at one time to go through and give you guys an idea on how to give it some certain look and how to grade to certain footage. As you can see here, we have made, just hold the lighter and the lights are out and it’s pretty dark. And we’re going to correct this. Actually, this is already corrected.
Let me show you the before. This is after I got done with it. There is the before. I’ve tried to get done with it. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to go through and show you real fast how I got this look.
So let’s start a different grade here. We’ll start with our panel and this will be really easy to do. We’re going to go down here. I want to pull out some blues down here at the bottom. The bottom into the graph is the low end and of course, the top into the graph is the high end. We’re going to pull out the blue on the low end like this. I’m going to pull out some green like this. Let’s just vamp up the red for now.
And let us vary the shadows, pull this down and lower down like this. We then lower our highlights and our mid tones. If we want we can go back in here and adjust our red a little bit. If it’s a little too red you can pull some over it out or you can add some. It’s really up to you.
Now as you can see, and as easy as literally 60 seconds. We went from this to this and of course, you could do all kinds of looks to this. You can go into the highlight on his face and make the face a little brighter but of course, you would enable your secondary. I am not really going to do this, but you need to put vignette on like that and shrink it down. And you’re going to soften it, the whole bunch like that. We’re going to affect the inside so I want to crank up my shadow, you can see my face. There is light enough there. So, we can light up my face a little bit like the light shining on it.
Here we go, now it looks like the lighter is shining on my face there. All you have to do is track that vignette. As you can see it’s there before I even light the lighter. So it comes on so we’d want to key frame that. It’s what we want to do but I’m not going to go through and take the time to key frame that. We’d just key frame it toward the glare on my face. It does not come on, to the light it does. Okay, so there you go guys, real fast from that to that. Pretty amazing if you ask me, I love color and I got so much to show you, guys.
