Hey guys, this is Vince DelMonte here from VinceDelMontefitness.com and YourSixPackQuest.com. I want to talk about how to build muscle mass.
Building muscle mass is not easy, especially if you do not have muscle friendly genes, if you are not using steroids and if you do not have a plan. What I wanted to talk to you about is having a plan, knowing specifically what to do when you go to the gym. How many reps, how many sets, on which days, which exercises you want to change it up and if you go to my muscle building site, you will see that I deliver 229 neat programs that will tell you exactly what to do.
Building muscle mass does not happen casually. It is kind of like trying to become a millionaire accidentally. You are not going to wake up one day and find a million bucks in your bank account. You are going to have to work towards and you have to know where you are today. And you are going to have to focus on one day at a time and not be impatient. It is really important to build on your previous on the previous week.
A lot of guys, if you go to the gym, you will notice you are doing the same workouts week after week. I can not count how many guys I have seen my gym. They look exactly the same as they did a year ago, two years ago and the main problem is that they are not giving their muscles a reason to grow. So if you want to build muscle mass, you have to give your muscles a reason to grow.
There is a couple of ways to do that. You can overload your muscles with volume by doing more sets, by stretching the muscle tissue, gorging it with more blood. That is going to create a metabolic response to help your muscles get bigger. You can also focus on lifting heavier weights. Heavier weights are going to force your muscles grow because you are going to experience a stress, you are going to stimulate muscle fibers that have never been tapped or trained before. And you are going to say, “Holy Crap, I do not want to experience this intensity again. I better build a new muscle.” And that is going to come from cycling, a combination of what I just mentioned, volume and heavier weights. If you are not increasing your weights from week to week until you increase your weights by five percent, then it is a pretty good chance that you are not going to build muscle mass.
So, really focus on your next workout work out, whether it is tonight or tomorrow morning. If you are looking on a 30 pound dumb bells, try on the 35 pound dumbbells. Next, you try to finish on the 40’s, then 45. It makes sense, right? But I do not understand why people still lift the same weights and expect to get the same results. So, use commonsense, have a plan, and those are a few tips on how to get more muscle mass.
