Hey! It is Vince DelMonte here from VinceDelMonteFitness.com and YourSixPackQuest.com, and I want to share with you some of my best muscle building tips and this does not require you to go out and buy any new program. It does not require you to buy any supplements. It just requires you to change a few things in what you are currently doing with whatever program you are following even if it is not mine.
The first thing is to treat every single rep like it is your last rep. do not go to the gym and pace yourself thinking you have got these many sets, these many exercises and going to start off slow. When you are training, train like your life depends on it. Train like this is your last day on earth. Train like there is no tomorrow. That is the kind of attitude, mentality; that is the kind of energy you need to bring into your workouts.
The second thing is to bring a stopwatch to the gym. Keep your workouts honest. If your program says 30 seconds recovery, make sure you take 30 seconds recovery. You will be surprised with how many guys are trying to build muscle and their program says 60 seconds but by the time they go get a water, they talk to somebody, it has already stretched out to two or three minutes and they have lost the effect of the workout. So, keep your workout honest. You know, buy yourself a stopwatch or wear a nice, you know, little Ironman watch that keeps track of the time and keep your eye on it.
The third tip I want to give you is to – if you can, this is not mandatory but try training with somebody who is bigger than you. Somebody who looks like you want to look and that is going to keep you mentally motivated. It is going to keep your intensity up. It is going to keep you honest with your physique. Sometimes you think you are bigger than you actually are; that is one of the reasons I am here at this competition this weekend. I like being around guys who are bigger than me. It reminds me that, wholly cow, I thought I looked good which is okay. What it does is it forces you to keep raising the bars. So, maybe for you if you do not have a workout partner it means going to a different gym. A gym that has bigger guys. That might be a huge first step and mentally, you will be surprised of what you can get out off your own body just by being in a different environment.
