How to build a KTM 300 Mule with a WTP Trax shock?

Jeff Slavens: Well, I am Jeff Slavens with Slavens Racing and this is another video on how to build a Slavens KTM 300 Mule.

Everything on the bike is modified a little bit and here is one other item that I am working on. Now I just imported this shock; the one on the right. It's called WP Trax and Trax is spelled as T-R-A-X. It's got a special rebound system and really everything about it is improved. It's all hand machine. It's got the dual compression controls on top. It's got a different rebound system on the bottom here. This is the rebound adjuster, and inside of this area are six springs that control the rebound circuit and in simple terms the way it works is, is at any time your tyre is not touching you arm, the shock bypasses the normal rebound circuit and drops the shock instantly. Drops the rear tyre, extends the shaft and drops rear tyre instantly. So that it gets right back on the ground for more traction. So this is what the factory boys use. I imported this from Holland, and this is the one on the left. This is the stock 2010 KTM 300 shock.

Now we've taken this out and doing some testing, I am sure that it will be too stiff for the rocks and the roots, so I will be getting into that real soon and doing some modifications to the valving; another parts of the shock. I'll let you know how that goes. That's all for now!
