It's a pipe and a chair. A pipe organ chair! A piece of furniture, and a musical instrument! I'm genius! Now I just gotta build it.
How to build a Pipe Organ Chair. First, sketch out your ideas. I believe Da Vinci had something similar in his notebooks. Good. Now gather your materials.
A wooden chair - 3' and 6' aluminum alloy tubes ( 2" outside diameter), 36" dowel rod (2" diameter), black pipe - 10" 3/4" and 6" 3/4", 3 flanges - 3/4". 3 black pipe reduces - 3/4" to 1", 90 - degree elbow fittings - 3/4" big piece -o- leather- .105 In thick, 3 ball valves - 3/4", and 2 spring-loaded hinges.
The first step is that find an old wooden chair. The flatter the seat, the better. The second step is, make the pipe organ. A thick walled pipe provides the best tonal qualities. Drill a air holes and attach the flanges to the chair. The middle pipe should stick out 2" further than the others. The next step is, attach a ball valves and 90 degree elbows. The airflow is under the chair, moving towards the back. Step four is to get the best organ tones, take the diameter of the pipe and multiply that by two. So my pipes were 40", 36", and 32". The step five is making the reed, the wood that forces air over the gap to make organ sounds. Use a 1" flathead screw to secure the reed.
Now the step six is the bellows. Glue leather to the chair to stop air from escaping. Screw down the valve flaps. At this point, I'd kind of like to sit down. Polish the pipes and attach them to the back of the chair with u-brackets. Attach spring-loaded hinges to the chair and the top of the bellows. Set the hinges on maximum pull. When you get up off the chair, the bellows inflates itself.
