The major construction portion of my side yard garden is complete and now, I can really bring my garden to life by installing a water feature. I am using easy to find material readily available at your local building supply. Earlier I filled this raise bed about halfway with stone dust let over from my paving project.
Now, I dig a hole from the bottom of the pond. Once I get the pond liner stable and level, I can add in the soil which I back filled tightly around the pond liner. Next, I place in Pennsylvania fieldstone around the edge to give it a more natural look.
Now, I am going to set up pump and my filters system for my pond. There is a little pump here, it is a little pump. I just need something to circulate the water. This is going to circulate between 40 and 80 galloons per hour so it is perfectly this size.
Now, for my tubing, I am going to need to clamp it on. So, I have got this little clamps, it is already halves through the screwdriver and as we turn it its get tighter. So, let us go and put it on this. I am going to take the screw driver and screw it tightly.
I put in about one to two inches of gravel in the bottom of the pot and I am going to now take the pump and place it in there and I am going to make it long for right now.
Now, I am going to finish filling the pot with gravel. I have the other end of the rubber hose and I am going to put the clamp on it and put dust on this little froggy here. This will probably is going to set right here.
So, I have got my pump in my little filter system which is just a pot with gravel in it and then I have my little frog here that is going to spit out the nice, clean, water into the pond. All I have to do now is to fill out my pond.
For this project I have sweet potato vine, mint, econasia, the toothache plant, some blue fescue, yarrow, thuja bush, and a clematis plant. I also have a variety of water irises for the pond, so get to the store and buy your pond and start drying your plants for your water feature today.
I am Patty Moreno the Garden Girl. Thanks for watching.
