Hello, everyone, this is Anthony Montalbano with InternetRiot.com and I have to do this, I can help not, I need to show you guys how easy it is to go to website up. How you get a good looking website up on your own domain. If you guys know it, even a domain is www.iamcool.com whatever. It is too easy and you are going to see so quickly and easy in this video here how you can do it with WordPress. WordPress has been known as a blogging platform. I think it is just known as a website program, an application to build websites, because that is exactly how I used it. It is exactly what you should be doing too.
So, I am going to start with the very basics here. I want to open up my internet browser and just go to google.com. Let us start with this. We are going to need somewhere where we want to host that website. I used a great web host 1&1.com. So let us go to 1&1.com. All right, so now, we are going to click on web hosting right up here. Let us signup, $399 a month. You want to build a website, 50 bucks the max, there you, choose a domain. Like I said if you want to show what domains are, I will do it right here. What do you want your website to be? I am just going to make some crop up here because I just want to show you guys how easy this really is.
I am the coolest person ever. I do not even know if this is available? I am just serious they are doing this on the flat. Actually you can put .com there, okay. Let us check, so that was easy enough. Select this domain, now you do not need to crop. I am just going to be honest with you, you really do not, you just continue, that sounds good to me. Continue, where you from? I am from the US, okay, or you request for a no, let us fill out some crop right here, just your basic personal information, fill it out. And now yes to that password for 1&1 account, give yourself a password. Where did you hear about us? I do not care when you say InternetRiot.com. Now, let us pay for the account, correct kind of information, put your stuff in. How is that? Scroll down, let us click continue. You will get email sent to you. Inside that email will be your login information or have your user ID and it will have your password, the one that you just created in that last step I just showed you.
What we will do now? We go to admin.1&1.com and here we are admin.1&1.com. Put your customer ID in. Put your password in. Click login. Now, to run cyber 1&1 control panel, scroll down, look for my SQL administration, we are going to click on my SQL administration, we are going to click our new database right here, we are going to give a name and we are going to click on setup. We have four things that we have to remember here. We have a database name which is just right here. We have a host name which is just right here. We have a user name which is this one right here and we have a password which is just right here. Save all four of those variables. You are going to find out where you are going to do with those soon.
Okay, our web host is set up. Next thing we need to do is setup our FTP. How do we do that? Look at this FTP account on the left-hand side over here. Let us click on FTP account. User name, we have a user name and we have a password, save those two. What was your website? Iamthecoolestpersonever.com, just store ftp in front of it. ftp.iamthecoolestpersonever.com, save all three of those things. ftp.iamthecoolestpersonever.com, your username which I showed you right here and your password that it shows right here. So, now we have seven variables, the four from my SQL and the three for the ftp.
What is FTP? FTP is the easiest way to connect to your web host. It is just to transfer files that you need to do. So, before we get in to that, let us go and get in WordPress blog. WordPress.org. All right look at this, ready to get started, down over and press 2.63. I can do that, I click now we are over here. Let us download this, download WordPress. How long this is going to take? Gee, that was quick, I have downloaded WordPress and the next thing we need to do is connect to our FTP. I do not even have a
