Jaime: So I love this kitchen but what we’ve notice over time after living in the house for
a little is that there is no place to sit in here.
Jim: And not only that it’s a little bit quartered here as you can see this is plywood, the
spare as I called it to one to give a more organize with the kitchen.
Jaime: I’m really hoping I can turn this into a place where I can feed the girls breakfast
or dinner and they’re snacks with there friends instead of having to always feed
them in here or in here.
Male: Well we get rid all of the cabinets, do a countertop, a couple of stoles and
whatever there are simple things we can do to turn this into a sort of hidden area
in your kitchen and you have a place to have breakfast with the kids and don’t
worry about the mess of the dining room and just kicking up the door out to
school, Jim and Jaime of demo at the kitchen so they starting to build the sitting
area.
Jimmy Little: This is the shape of empowering to do, so we get a little slope to the back, 35 and
half of these are measurement from the floor to the bottom of the backsplash tile
over there. So we are going to build our bench to fit in between them. Alright we
are ready for assembly, alright we this bench come together which is nice.
Jim: Okay.
Jimmy Little: Glue everything always and you are going to nail this, first of all don’t point that
side to you because the nails come out to that. Alright Jim this is the oak we are
going to use for the tabletop.
Jim: Okay.
Jimmy Little: We are going to get all to edge together and we are going to use these kits, a little
football shape pieces of plywood.
Jim: Alright.
Jimmy Little: You fit in the slots and this cutter makes cuts the slots so we are just going around
through all of this and takes not time to do it. Stick glue the edge and make sure
we get glue in the biscuit slot along the edge the whole way top of this in neutral
and now we will glow each biscuit. Let’s put the glue there and make sure the
glue is coming out.
Male: Bench goes in, faces the wall, got the nice table top and this cabinets are coming
down and they are going to put a big cork board up here so they now have a place
for other kids artwork and stuff like that and that have in all on the table like it
was before.
Jimmy Little: I cut all the pieces ready for the pedestal base for the table. It’s actually pretty
simple it’s all just half lapses just cutting the thickness of the board, three quarters
of an inch that way through the board then everything kind t fits together like that.
Jim: Right.
Jimmy Little: So we’re just going to glue this up and slide everything together for a couple of
brad nails on it just the whole everything square to that.
Male: Made to order.
Jimmy Little: Alright now, the fear is if this is fit.
Jim: Just put on top of the molding.
Jimmy Little: Let’s grab the table slides in the place so what are going on, done.
Jim: I’m pretty of the work Jimmy and I doing the kitchen as well.
Jimmy Little: Well that’s good.
Male That’s the whole different room now and that is great.
Jaime: This kitchen table I think is change our whole lifestyle the way will serve meals
and hang out.
