How to Burn Audio CDs From MP3 in K3B

How do I use K3B to burn MP3 audio CDs. K3B is making audio CDs but with wave audio files. Robbie Ferguson: MP3 is a codec that is not free, and when we say free in that sense we mean free as in freedom not necessarily as in price. So what we need to do is we need to install the extra codecs for K3B.—I feel like I’ve got this hair hanging in my face that’s weird. Carrie Webb: I saw that. Robbie Ferguson: Did you see that? Carrie Webb: I think you’ve got it. Robbie Ferguson: Do I actually have a hair hanging on my face? Carrie Webb: It was on your eye, you’ve got it. Robbie Ferguson: Honestly, okay. Carrie Webb: But I don’t want to be like— Robbie Ferguson: Yeah, thanks Carrie. Everybody will be like. “Why is she doing that?” So yeah, we need to get the K3B extra codec’s installed from the repository, so we’ll just going to bring up Synaptic Package Manager. This can give us access to that, jump up the quick search if you’ve got it otherwise, as you search K3B you’ll just search for that if you want. Just look for extra codec’s now, you see it says libK3B2-extracodecs that is duplicated because K3B is now version three, so this is probably just like a link to version 3. What we want is libK3B3-extracodecs, and you’ll see if you read the description there, this package contains runtime libraries for MP3 and FFMPEG decoder Plugin. So, once you’ve installed that you should be able to have no trouble. You’ll be able to burn audio CDs directly from MP3, so if you download MP3s off the web or however, you obtain those, you’ve be able to burn those to audio CD. Carrie Webb: Awesome.
