Hello. Today, I’m going to give a very basic tutorial on burning a disc image with the Brasero Disc Burner, which is the default burner.
For the vast majority of you, you can even probably know this already but for the new comers, I’m just going to show you how you do it.
Basically, we have downloaded, the Mix 97, 32-bit which was released today and I want to put there onto a CD. Now as you can see, it’s an ISO which is basically an image. All you need to do, you go to applications, to the sound and video and you choose Brasero Disc Burner.
Okay it’s really, really easy to use this, pretty obvious, burn image. It says “click here to select an image.” it’s really an easy program to use. You locate where the file is, in my system it’s on the desktop, Linux Mint 7 ISO and click Open. Now if you click on Properties, it gives you some options here so you can burn it at maximum speed or you can go down as low as 4. I would recommend not the maximum speed, just in case you got errors. I would go for either 4 or 8 and I’ll apply the same principle to movies, if you copy movies or any video files or music files. I'm not too keen in using really high speeds really. There was a bit of a debate about this, but from what I've heard it’s better to burn at low speed. So in this instance, I’ll just go choose 8-speed. Now getting this in various options here but you don’t need to worry about it, if there’s a failure I just leave them alone really, I worry about the burning speed. And all you do click on Okay.
Then, you simply click Burn and there we are, it will start burning and it won’t be long, it will be done in about five minutes or so, maybe less. Again that’s the tutorial of it; it’s very, very basic in deed. The vast majority of you will know all about this anyway but just in case something new comes into Ubuntu, I don’t know ho to do these things. That’s just about a quick tip for you. Okay, thanks for watching.
