Hello, my name is Kristen and I am going to speak about some parenting issues today. I have been a parent for 11 years and today I am going to talk to you about car seats.
The most important thing to remember when you are buying a car seat. It is very different from a lot of the other baby products because with the other baby products you are thinking of, how long you may need to use it? And getting as many years out of it as you can? And car seat is very much more specific to the age of the child. You will have to buy probably three or four different car seats before the child is age seven and now most state laws require the children to be in some sort of booster car seat until 80 pounds or age seven or eight.
So, in an infant car seat, I would just go right to thinking about what you need for that infant stage up to about six to nine months. And then the next car seat really just focus on that nine months to eighteen months. That is usually the weight around 20 to 25 pounds because then when they get to be two, two and a half, three, they actually care what their car seat would be like.
Sometimes they want a certain booster, you can have a booster with a back, you can have one made just sit in. There is also all kinds of different designs. Every car seat that is sold in the toy store or the baby store has to meets all the safety regulations and the guidelines change often. So, never buy a head with car seats. Think of the present time in keeping your baby safe for the age they are.
