Hi, my name is Carrie. I just had a baby five weeks ago. I live in New York City and going to talk about strollers or carriages.
We got a carriage that has a basinet to it because I really felt like in the beginning I wanted the baby to be able to lie down while she was still little and sleeping, and that all is crunched up in a sort of car seat kind of carrier in the stroller which we also have but the basinet style suited me.
Depending on where you live, you have to think about the kind of wheels you have. We have ones that sort of big wheels because we are doing a lot of walking in the city and all kinds of terrain and all kinds of weather.
But there are different, many, many different kinds of strollers. If you get one that converts into difference for different sized babies, it is a lot easier then you do not have three strollers while you are in your house. You can have one and then just change the positions.
Just a note, be careful now a lot of the companies are making strollers and carriages that are bigger and bigger and bigger and it is impossible, it seems like it would be great but when you are getting in and out of doorways, elevators, when you have extra bags, it can be a big pain. So, less is more. Ask people what they use and what they like and why.
