I have now received 500 top 5 list seems that way, I am through the idea out there a few weeks, and people keep submitting them, it is great. I am getting top 5 list of all kinds not just related to technology and I appreciate that because I love learning new things. So, if you are not a geek like you know something else really, really well. Send me your top 5 list, my email address is cris@pirillo.com. This is top 5 list happen to be the top 5 things you need to remember when you have or have not purchase a computer submitted by Joseph Chang.
Number one, always make sure you invested in an external hard drive, cannot stress how important it is to back up your stuff. You can never be to sure when faithful day, when your computer goes hey wire, you have lost hundreds of gigabytes worth of data, it is a very good point. We also have videos on internet back up services as well.
Number two, make sure you know the terms and conditions of your warranty. This prevents misunderstanding and annoying business to the vendor when you discover your dismay when you are covered. Also, make sure you know when your warranty expires. Usually, on the same day you purchase it, only three year, more years later, the good thing to keep on mind. In fact, this is how I got really upset with Gateway, because they would not honor the extended warranty that I purchased, even though it should have been covered under the warranty, I spilled coffee on my computer. It was totally my accident but, they will not cover. So, for that reason alone, you will never hear me for the time being until their rules and regulations change, you will not hear me recommending a Gateway computer, any computer that is related somehow to the Gateway company.
Number three, if you are a new user to the OS, Lenox, OS 10 or windows etcetera. If your computer came with the users guide, reload. Most of the time nearly all the questions you have will be answered, if there is one thing you do not understand about the OS then go to the company’s website to look at the F8Q’s, that is frequently ask questions or help forms and remember Google is your friend, very true. We also have forms for you to look at, at help.lockergnome.com and you can also swing that chapter at live.gorilla.com, get you more to that in a second.
Number four now, before, if this one is if you have it purchase the computer and if it uses the different operating system. Like a windows users which you do a Mac, familiarize yourself with the new OS by seeing if any of your friends use it, maybe even your co workers or colleagues or go to a store and that might have or should have what you are looking for and play around with what is there. I personally would go for the first option if available, very true, what your friends say curios a lot awake, because if you decide to switch on what your friends are using while you want to run on an issues, either your friends have had run into the same issues, they can help you work around them or at lest you do not feel so alone with your problems.
Number five make sure what you want suits your needs, I like where this is going. If you buy something with a lot of horse power but you do not use it all then buying a particular computer would have been completely waste of money that is absolutely true. Do not buy computers for looks that is just stupid. Static’s are usually the last thing you should look at, always look at the statistics of the computer if it matches your needs, if you find numerous computers with the same or almost of the same stats, then you can look at the static of your computer. Well, that is very true, yes, you know that I have my computer behind my desks, so, why does it matter what it looks like.
To me, it is more important about what is inside and I only need one video card because I do not do a lot of game playing but, I do have 230 inch monitors, so, I need one that is capable of handling those monitors. You know, if you are going to buy, I know it is a top 5 list but I cannot help it sharing more information. If you are wondering to buy 2gigabytes of RAM or 4 gigabytes if you are sticking with a 32 bit version of VISTA or XP 2 gigabytes is fine, if you are going 64 bit then go to 4 gigabytes. You are wasting your money in my opinion if you buy 4 gigabytes for 32 bit operating system because it just would not work together but you are not I do not believe to seeing all the benefits of having that extra hardware, at least as far as the RAM or memory is concern.
So, it is really a good list Josephine, you know I kind of start spotting off there at the end, just because there is so many things that you have to keep on mind when you are buying a computer. And now, if you have any other ideas that we might be able to extend and listen to it into a top 100 list if you have things to keep in mind feel free to add comments and even better if you have a YouTube account, just respond to this video or if you have any kind of video account responding to video, it is always nice to see video feed back and of course you are also welcome to email me your top 5 tips. My email address again is, cris@pirillo.com and I mention the chat room link, and you know the middle of the video is we are it recording because I am streaming live. Now, right now, if you are watching the video as it has been uploaded in just some network but I am streaming, that is how the chat room is integrated here and everything is happening live, because this camera, at this very moment is streaming out of the internet, and it is streaming right now, not the same thing but it is streaming live and in the place where you can get to it is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week for all your needs.
