The difference between ink jet and laser when it comes to photos you really want ink jet because you get much more detail from ink jet ink instead of a laser. But the price you pay for ink on an ink jet is a lot higher than laser. You can print out thousands of pages on a laser printer but you are not going to get the detail that you would on ink jet.

When you are choosing a photo you want to figure out what size paper you want to print on. Because there is a big cost difference between just normal 81/2x11 prints or if you want to jump to the 13x19 prints, so you can spend $150 on a regular ink jet printer to print photos but when you want to print large format you are going to be spending $400 to $500. And in the less expensive printers will give you anywhere from 3 to 5 different colors of inks for the different shapes of color. The more expensive ones range up to maybe 7 or 8 different colors. The white light flax to the white flax, light magenta, to get all the skinny tones and the contrast is bright, to replicate what you actually did the photo up.
