Trey: Alright, this is Trey. I am here with Alex from Sanco Kia and we are going to ask him some of the advantages and things to look out for when buying a previously owned automobile.
How are you doing, Alex?
Alex: Not bad. How are you?
Trey: Not bad. Thanks. So a lot of people when they go shopping for a car, they are looking to save a few dollars, but still get something of good quality. What are some of the advantages when you are looking at a previously owned automobile?
Alex: What's good to look for is when people will bring back their leases, you can often get a good deal on that. So cars that are four or five years old, you can get some good cars that have decent mileage for a good price.
Trey: What are some of the things you think people should be out on the look for when they are looking at previously owned cars?
Alex: Obviously, get some feedback on the previous owners. If you are looking at a SUV and if there is a hitch in the back that person that had it before towed some stuff with it and it might be some the engine forced a bit. See the condition of the windshield, the windows, if there is any rust coming out in the rear corners, things like that.
Trey: Alright. So when I go to a big brand name dealership like a Kia dealership, is there any extra advantages than going to let's say Bob's Used Cars?
Alex: Obviously, the service. The technicians are all trained by Kia. So they are all top of the line technicians that we have there. The service is excellent. You are dealing with professionals not some guy on the corner.
Trey: What happens when you guys buy these cars back from individually? What do you put them through before you put them back?
Alex: Right away when we get them they go through an inspection to make sure that everything is A-one. Then when we put them on the lot, it's when somebody comes to buy will do another inspection. If there is ever anything that needs to be replaced, it gets replaced.
Trey: If I am working on a limited budget say $30,000 or $25,000 do you think it's better to buy a lower end brand-new automobile or a higher one previously owned one?
Alex: It depends what you are looking for. If you are on a good car, if they guarantee you when you are buying it or if you are looking more towards the equipments. It depends person to person. Me, personally, I would rather go for a car that's two-three years old that has good equipment than a new car that's like you said automobile that has no equipment on it.
