Hello everyone, this is Anthony Montalbano with Internetriot.com and today with this video here, I am going to show you how to use a tool called Farecast which allow you to find great deals for airfare.
In this videos particularly, I want to show you how you can setup an alert. So, given a scenario, say I live in Detroit, Michigan, I want to go to Las Vegas and I am planning on going in March. Well when should I buy my ticket because as you all know, the flight prices could change and you want to find the best price? So, using Farecast.com, give your location, you give your destination and it gives a prediction based off of the previous amount of time of what airfare has cost and then it can determine whether or not you should buy. So, let us try this out.
So let us say I want to go on vacation to Las Vegas. I want to buy tickets. I do not know when I should buy them. Should I buy them today, should I buy them tomorrow, when should I buy it? So, with Farecast, we can setup an alert that will email us and say look at—hey listen, based of the stats that we have calculated from going to destination A to destination B, today is the best day to buy. They will tell you of a confidence prediction about when you should buy. So, this is how we do this.
Farecast.com, on the left hand side, let us just do, I am going to do DTW which is Detroit and I will do LAS which is Las Vegas baby and I am just going to click on search and then based off of this data right here, it is going to tell me the lowest price. It is going to search all the popular airfare sites such as Expedia and Cheap Tickets and so forth.
So, what it is telling me here on the left hand side is tell me to buy. It is giving me a confidence of 69%, it says that fares are going to rise. So, if I were really be going to Las Vegas December 10th to December 17th, buy my tickets now. But, if you do not want to buy your tickets now, maybe you want to check to see if it is going to go down or you want to keep track of what the prices are going to be.
So what we can do is set up an alert. To set up an alert, first thing you need to do is have a Farecast account. Over on the top right hand corner, you can click My Account. So, I am going to login into my account. Obviously once you have an account, you can log into it. I will log in. Okay, now I am into my account, I have logged in. As you can see over here on the left hand side under account overview, there is this thing called Farecast alerts. I am going to click on it.
Now, I do not have any alerts set yet, so let us set one. I am going to click on setup a new Farecast alert. I am in Detroit and I want to go to LAS, Las Vegas. Choose number of adults. I am just going to be one. I have my date, say I am looking to go in February about three months or so from now. I want to leave on a Friday and come back on Monday. And now here, you click on more options, you can determine how often you want to be emailed or when the fair drops to a certain price. So, say you are like I want to go to Las Vegas, I do not want to spend over $225.00. So, as soon as the price drops that low, hey send me an email, I will buy tickets then. Cool!
Type in 225, $225.00 and alert me indefinite which basically mean that it is going to keep sending me these emails up until the day of when I want to go. So after that, all I have to do is click on save, look at that. They are going to email me every single time or whenever the price drops below $225.00 for this date.
That is it. I do not have to worry about checking stats. I do not have to worry about checking Exxpedia, checking on every single day. I just want to know when it is going to drop below $225.00. You tell me, I buy. End of story. That is all you got to do. Farecast.com can do that for you. That is all I have for you today and hope to see you soon again at InternetRiot.com.
