Look at them, live baby chicks. I am so excited. Let see them inside.
Now we are going to set up the brooder for our lovely bamboo chickens.
I am so exited.
This cardboard came in a kit that I bought.
You move you guys for a second.
I think this is the Aracuna and they lay blue eggs. I can not wait for this one.
Oh, so cute!
So we finished setting up our brooder and the dale chicks are doing great. I have spent about the last hours, so figuring out the heating lamp placement.
When it is too low and it is too hot, all of the chicks will disperse underneath the light and if the lamp is too high up and they are not getting enough heat, they will mound on top of each other.
So I have got it to the proper placement. I have also put a board in here to cut down on the heat.
If it was spring, we keep them in here for about two to three weeks but since this is the middle of the summer we are only going to keep them in here for seven days, and then we are going to move them into our chicken tractor and have them get to work.
I am Patti Moreno the Garden Girl. Thanks for watching!
