Easter is one of the most popular holidays in the United States. It is celebrated even in the lawn of the White House. There is many traditions and it is everyway you look around Easter time so here is some fun tips and useful information about the holiday called Easter.
Now, everybody recognizes the Easter bunny and none in the lot people know where he comes from. Well, it turns out that the Easter bunny that some people would say is not a modern invention. The symbol originated with the Pagan festival of Eastre. The Goddess Easter is worshiped by the Anglo-Saxon through her earthly symbol, the rabbit. The German supposedly brought the symbol of the Easter rabbit to America. It is widely ignored during Easter celebrations until shortly after the Civil War. In fact, Easter itself was not widely celebrated in America until after that time.
As with the Easter bunny, the Easter egg predates the Christian holiday of Easter. The exchange of eggs in the spring time is a custom that was centuries old when Easter was first celebrated by the Christians. From the earliest time, the egg was a symbol of rebirth in most cultures. Eggs were often wrapped in gold leaf or if you are a peasant, colored barely by boiling them with leaves or petals of certain flowers.
Today, children hunt colored eggs and place them in Easter baskets along with the modern version of real Easter eggs. Those made of plastic or chocolate candy and of course, every year on the lawn of the White House, the President and their family preside over the Easter egg roll where children from all over the country gather to roll Easter eggs across the lawn in a short fun race to celebrate the holiday in a perfectly American tradition.
One popular tradition that happens on Easter is people painting eggs. A great method to do that is to take a pin and pop a small hole in an egg and then take a pin and pop a second hole in the egg. And then blowing very gently through one hole, you blow the contents of the egg out of the shell. Then once you just have the shell, you dip it in a dye. You can buy at any convenient store or--and you color your eggs according to your own preferences and then decorate your house with your pretty Easter eggs.
A popular tradition on Easter is the Easter egg hunt. Now, usually an adult, because Easter egg hunts are particularly popular with children, will hide a variety of Easter eggs, sometimes plastic ones, sometimes the real ones all over whatever the property is that you guys happened to be doing your Easter egg hunt. And then children are released on to the lawn or the park or what have you and they collected Easter eggs. Whoever finds the most Easter eggs usually wins the prize which is probably made of chocolate.
