Hello this is Chris of watchmojo.com. Now sometimes your car's headlight stay dim no matter how many times you will be charge your battery. This maybe a sign that its time to buy a brand new battery. We have an expert here with us today to show us how to perform this job.
If you notice that clicking sound when you try to start your ignition or if you notice crack on your car's battery, that may be a sign that its time to replace your battery with a brand new one. Buy a quality battery at your auto supply store, making sure the model suits your car and the climate that you drive in. Turn off the engine, because batteries contain a solution that can produce a flammable gas. Pop the hood and find the battery. To remove the old battery, use a combination wrench, or socket and ratchet to loosen the bolts that hold the negative cable clamp connected to the negative terminal.
Loosen the nut then twist and pull up on the end of the black cable with your hand. Remove the positive battery cable using the same method. Get a good grip of the battery to take it out of its tray, grab the bottom because it's heavy. Ask for a head if you have a bad back. Use water and a wire brush to clean any corrosion from the battery tray and hold-down clamp. Use a wire brush to clean the battery cable connectors and for heavy corrosion, purchase a battery-cleaning solution.
Let the equipment dry. Place the new battery in the tray and secure it with the hold-down clamp. Attach and tighten the negative and positive battery cables, tightening the bolts. If you can move them at all, your car may not start. Close the hood, dispose of old toxic batteries properly at a service garage, auto supply store or at a local recycling center. Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally outdoors and wear eye protection glasses and gloves; especially of your car battery is more than 5 years old.
