Hey, what’s up YouTube. Today I'm going to show you guys how to basically customize any font that you have on your Windows machine for XP or Vista. So I'm going to show you how to customize all the fonts in your Start menu, in your folders like the editing toolbars and all that stuff. Or even just simple things which most of you probably know like Notepads fonts where you go to format and then fonts and add it to this list.
So were going to start with the easy one which is the Notepad one. You can use Da Font Book. Currently for some reason Da Font is down, dafont.com. D-A-F-O-N-T.com. but I'm going to use 1001freefonts.com, which I personally think is better. They just have some better fonts. Some are the same. They have a lot of genres. Let me just pick Comic right here. I have most of this. So distorted. Let’s say I like this one. No actually, I think there is one here that I wanted but then I lost it. Let’s just get a handwriting one. Fire, right here, alright. I'm going to get one called Kustom Kar. Okay, so I'm going to download it because I have Windows, I'm going to click the Windows one. It say file and open those zip. And all I need is a .TTF. So I'm going to drag that to my desktop.
And there's no really a point in opening it, it just like example of it. But actually to install it, you want to go to Start. My Computer. Same thing in XP, Local Disk. Windows. And go into the Font folders. Same with Windows. Just drag it in there. And if you have FireWall, let me just continue. And there you go. You don’t need the original one anymore. There.
So now I'm going to open up Notepad. Format. Font. And let me find Kustom Kar. Kustom Kar, we’ll make it big size. Okay, so there you go. It’s the same process with any of them. So there you go. Some of them are only capital, some of them are only lowercase. So that’s that.
Alright, I'm back now. So now I'm going to show you guys how to change it where you change like the folders and stuff. So I'm going to add a folder here and a briefcase here. So there you go. Now, I want to change the font of those and the font in the Start menu and the folders in my private folder. I'm going to right click, go to personalize. In XP go to properties. Then go to Windows Color and Appearance. And XP it’ll be something like that. Go to open Classic Appearance Properties. And then go to Advance. Go down to where you see icon right there and pick a font. So you know I like to remember the first one so it’s CGOUI, just in case everyone change it back.
So let’s say I wanted that one I just downloaded, which is Kustom Kars but with a K. so let me find it, Kustom Kar. Okay. Apply. Please wait. Okay, and there you go. I basically just install the brand new font on my computer the professional way. But I don’t really like this way. So I'm going to go to Personalize. Let’s go on Appearance. Open Classic Appearance. Advance. Go down to Icon and change it to Cambria. Let’s try that. Just wait for the please wait thing. Okay. And as you can see, it’s a little bit weird but it looks nice and neat. Right here and everywhere, it looks nice and neat. But I want to change it again. It’s not that I change it daily, but I just like keeping the default one that I made this tutorial. So I'm going to pick another one. Let’s see. ARdarlink. Okay. Apply. Okay. So there you go. This is a pretty cool font. There you go. So now I'm going to change it back to the default. I know I'm being crazy now but I just want to change it before were done. Advance. Icon. And for Vista is URGI. Okay. Apply. And okay. So there you go.
I hope you like this tutorial. Please comment, rate, subscribe. And I hope the tutorial help. Goodbye.
