How to Change the Document Window Display in Access 2007

Access 2007 has a new feature that allows you to have your tables in tabs and if you remember back in Access 2003, then they were in separate windows that were kind of overlapped on each other. If you’d like to get that back or if you open an old database and you want to get tab viewing, you can switch back and forth by accessing options. So to do that, go ahead an click on the Office button, click on Access Options, you’re going to get the Access Options window, click on Popular—sorry, click on Current Database and then if you scroll down to where it says Document Window Options, right now, it’s set for Tabbed Documents, you can change it to Overlapping Windows by clicking the radio button and the clicking OK and it say it’s got to have to close it for it to take effect to which is fine. Next time we open it, it’s going to have our multiple tables in different windows instead of the tabbed. Again, you could switch it back if you don’t like that.
