Male Speaker: In this video tutorial, we'll show you how to change and edit your ringing tone and profiles. Using your track ball, scroll up to the profile icon found at the top left of your screen. Push your track ball in. From here you can activate your profile such as loud, vibrate, quiet, normal, phone only, and off. Select advanced to edit your profiles. Here you can set exceptions for your profiles for a group or contacts. Now select normal. From here you can edit your tones and actions for each of these applications, including BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, and email. MMS is picture messaging, and SMS text is regular text messages. Select phone to change your ringing tone. In your box you have a case also known as the holster, and through your profiles you can have different alerts when it is in or out of holster. Select tone. You are now choosing your alert type, and you have options such as none, tone, vibrate, and vibrate on tone.
Now choose your ringing tone. Here you have all your list of pre-installed tones by BlackBerry. Scroll it to the top of the list and select browse to use your own MP3 track. Now select the music folder which is stored in your MicroSD memory card. We will now select our track hold me by Kreesha. Now adjust your volume from mute, low, medium, high, or escalating. The LED notification light can be found at the top right of your BlackBerry Curve. Choose to have this switched on or not blink at all. Choose how many vibrations the phone should perform prior to setting of your ringing tone. You can choose different options when your phone is in its holster by changing its options within the in holster settings. Your profile has a Do Not Disturb feature also known as DND, this will divert all calls to your voice mail. However you will still be notified on the screen of all the missed calls. Select save.
Now select SMS text message. Again you can decide to have a tone or vibration or vibration and no tone. Just like your ringing tone profile, you can also use an MP3 song as your message alert. Now decide the amounts of beeps it should make and whether or not you want to have your LED status light flashing. You can opt not to receive any tones or messages whilst in a call. Keep this as no to keep this option switched off.
You can alter other alerts including browser, calendar, and Facebook.
You can change and edit your profiles from your main menu. Scroll down and select the profiles icon. By pressing and holding on to the hash or the letter Q key, you will switch your handset into vibration only mode.
