How to Check Security Settings in Windows Vista

You have no doubt encountered or seeing the orange icon in the task bar notification area. Clicking the icon opens the window security center control panel. This control panel allows you to control your firewall, updates and antivirus program. A default installation of Window Vista turns every security item on accepts for the Malware protection. The Amber icon next to virus protection indicates that this requires additional software. If you do have an antivirus program installed and does not being recognize by security center select Show me my available options and choose I have an antivirus program that I'd monitor myself.
