How to Check a Used Car Wheels

If you can hear a knocking when going over bumps, or when turning sharply, this could be a worn ball joint in the front of suspension, it's very dangerous. When a ball joint is worn badly, the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It could come apart, which means one of the front wheels would come off and you would lose control of the vehicle. We have found a great example of a good ball joint and one that is completely worn out. As you can see the rubber boot on this ball joint is in good condition. It allows a ball joint to move freely and the ball joint is still held firmly in place, whereas on this side, the rubber boot is torn. It allows water and dirt to get inside, that corrodes a ball joint, and it falls apart.
