I bet you're wondering why I'm sitting here in the bathroom today. Well, that's because today we're going installing the Pro Grade Toilet Lock.
This lock is going to make your bathroom a lot safer for your toddler and it's really easy to install. The only tool you're going to need is a flathead screwdriver. Here's what we do.
On the back of every toilet are these two little covers, that you just have to flip open with your finger. That'll uncover two plastic bolts. Now the plastic bolts are common in most toilet lids and that help them from not rusting. But some people do have metal bolts there. Anyway, all you've to do is unscrew both of those bolts. They are about this long. Just set them aside. Once you've got that taken care of, the hard part is done.
Next thing you do, take off the toilet seat. I definitely recommend making sure that you clean the toilet before you do this apart. Next, have your lock in the upright position. Position it over the holes that are already on your toilet. Then just put your lid right back on. Making sure that you're covering up those holes. Then all you've to do is put the screws back in and tighten the bolts underneath.
Now you've to be careful when you're tightening these bolts because the plastic is not as strong as the metal bolts and if you over tighten them, they may break and then you're headed off to the hardware store. With this toilet lock, you will no longer have contaminated pacifiers. Keys you've to wash off for the chance of accidental drowning.
Now you're ready to go. All you've to do is flip the lock down, flip the lids on the covers back over and it's set. This is really easy to use but not for a little one. Here's what you do.
Just slide the metal lever back all the way to the back and you can lift up. It holds in place until you're ready to put the lid back down then you simply close the lid, push down the lid and you're good to go. No child can get suck in there.
