Saint Patrick means green beer to many people. A time to celebrate by drinking beer and often lots of it. With so many to choose from these days, dark beer, light beer, low calorie beer which one is the healthiest? And by healthy we mean, how do you know which beer has the lowest calorie in carbohydrate count?
An article in Men’s Health Magazine has a guide to get maximum taste with minimum guilt. It’s the best beers under 140 calories. They asked Garrett Oliver, Brooklyn brewery brew master and author of the “Brew Masters Table” for advice.
He said that many of the light beers only save you about 20 to 50 calories per bottle, so why sacrifice taste for calories. Well, this may depend on how many beers you claim to comsume. So, for all you beer drinkers out there who are watching your weight to Saint Partrick’s Day, here is a break down of 10 popular beers and their calorie and carb count.
So, here we go from lowest to highest. Michelob Ultra comes out first with only 95 calories and 2.6 grams of carbs, Amstel Light has 95 calories and five grams of carbs, Miller Lite at 96 calories and 3.2 grams of carbs, Keystone Light has 100 calories, five carbs, Corona Light has a 105 calories and five grams of carbs, Bud Light has 110 calories and 6.6 grams of carbs, and at the higher end we have Sam Adams Light with the 124 calories and 9.7 grams of carbs.
