How to Choose Organic Clothing

[Music Playing] Connie: Hello! And, welcome to the magic garden, no I am kidding. Today, we are going to take a look at organic clothing. To tell you the truth I am really never thought about the organic, when it came to clothing and probably I assumed more reasons, to give you all the pros and cons. But, I did fined some very interesting things. Among them, it takes 1/3 a pan of pesticides to make one T-shirt and almost half of t pesticides supplied to crops are applied to cotton. I was surprised, to me that sounds take a lot and I figured it must be seeping into the soil and grow the fiber our skin when we wear them and we wash them and it all alternatives some they use the earth’s natural rhythms. So, on with this new information, I felt pretty good about going out and getting some organic clothes to share with you today. My friend Carol was nice enough to come over and agreed to show the clothes. Carol: Hi Connie! Connie: You are welcome. Carol: This is going to be fun. Connie: I think so. Carol: What do we have? Connie: I think so, well first of all, Carol and I both wearing shirts made of organic fibers, as the all of these pieces here. Carol: Very stylish. Connie: Thank you. Carol: Very nice. Connie: Thank you so much. And, these are-- of course all as well made of organic fibers. Carol: They are all made with organic cottons. Connie: Well, actually no, not all kind. Some are hemps and some are bamboo. I found a whole ton of stuff, actually. This one is made with a combination of organic cotton and hemp. I found this online. Carol: That is nice. Connie: Yes, is it that great? Carol: This I love. Connie: Do you love that? Do you know where I found that? At an organic supermarket. Carol: Next to the vegetables or where? Connie: I know, and so I know…This one does happen to be 100% cotton, though. This one is a bamboo blends and feel that. Carol: You know you say that. Connie: Yes. Carol: And I am feeling it and it is silky. Connie: It is kind of silky, right? Carol: That is bamboo, I do not know. Connie: Yes, I know. Carol: That is great. Connie: And, this one is a blend again of—you know organic fibers and also a supermarket find. This one I found online, you know it is a combination thing. Carol: So, that when you found online? Connie: Yes, -- Carol: But what about in generals, is it hard to find? Connie: Well, I am not going to say they are entirely mainstream yet, but they are getting easier to find. The internet is certainly a good source, you can always check our website and check our website for links you know to some of these products and I think just looking, just asking, some of the major change is starting to carry them now. They are becoming more accessible. Carol: How about expensive? What do you think is it reasonable? Connie: Is it reasonable? Well, I certainly found some items that I thought were kind of expensive, but it is just like anything else. It is a range and if you will look--if you really want it, I think you will find what works for you. This probably everything you see here ranges from $20.00 to $60.00. This T-shirt was $25.00, this scarf was $38, but it is heavy. This was $22.00, so it is a range. Carol: And that is a nice color too. Connie: And the colors are great, that is right. Carol: Check that out. Connie: That is a bamboo, that is the bamboo and the color is beautiful, right? And then you know--and this is also are bamboo, another cotton organic wool. So, you know keep in mind this is the style, I happen to like and I think you probably do too. Carol: I like natural colors. Connie: Yes, they are natural colors, but you can find in all kind of styles. Carol: Okay. Connie: Okay so what are you looking for? Carol: When—can we try one? Connie: You want to try one? Carol: Yes. Connie: All right. Carol: Ready? Connie: Yes. Carol: Okay. Connie: 1-2-3, come on. [Music Playing] Connie: So, to wrap it up what we found is that organic clothing comes in all kinds of styles and at good prices. It is exactly the same as conventional clothing, except that it does not use all the pesticides and chemicals. So, giving a choice why not chooses the one that uses the earth’s natural roots.
